
Former chief executive and co-founder of US technology giant Apple, Steve Jobs, has died on 5 Oct 2011, aged 56, after suffering from cancer.
Steve Jobs was an American inventor and entrepreneur. He was co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc. Jobs also was co-founder and previously served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he became a member of the board of directors of the Walt Disney Company in 2006, following the acquisition of Pixar by Disney.
Steve Jobs was one of the world's best-known business leaders and introduced the iPod and the iPhone to the world. His brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.
Now, not only Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, but also the world has lost an amazing human being. Those who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve has lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.
