Tractor "Eat Tire" Reasons And Prevention
Both sides of the tractor wear inconsistently, even one side wears quickly, namely the phenomenon of "eat tire". Reasons are as follows
1. The ttractor operation is long-term overload. Tire overload, slip rate increase and accelerate tire wear. If pressure of both sides tire is different and the difference is large, low pressure tire would wear intensely, and "eat tire" seriously.
Prevention method tire pressure should accords with regulation. Pressure is slightly low in summer, usually take the lower limit of the specified value. Tire pressure is too high, carcass ply would tense excessively, making overfatigue or fracture; tire pressure is too low, the excessive of carcass ply buckling deformation would easily lead to the detachment of rubber layer and carcass ply and the acceleration of rubber layer aging and wear. Therefore, don’t make tractor long-term overload operation, to reduce tire slip wear.
2. The traction tripod of tractor trailer is not isosceles. According to determination, when trailer tripod is unisosceles to 60mm, short side big tire would shorten 12 service life, and trailer tire in this side would aggravate wear.
Prevention method measure the distance between the tripod traction pin hole center and trailer two wheels landing place center. The two distance should be equal. If unequal, find out and eliminate the reason. If necessary, make a isosceles tripod again.
3. The front and rear wheel base of tractor left and right side is unequal. The front and rear wheel base of both sides is not equal, except the front wheel of short wheel base, will result in the remaining three tires malformation wear.
Prevention method check the front and rear wheel base of both sides, place two front wheels right, compare the two biggest distance of two sides front and rear wheel rim outer edge. If wheel base is unequal, find out the reason. Generally it is made because of the steering knuckle support, knuckle centre spindle, front wheel base or big wheel base bending deformation, so can dismantle to correct or replace new, to recover two sides front and rear wheel same wheelbase.
4. Unit resonance accelerate, big tire wear. If the above three are normal, while the right side big tire appear malformation wear, that is the unit resonance makes trouble. The driver can change the throttle position, to avoid placing the throttle in the speed of unit resonance, big tire "eat tire" phenomenon will disappear.
